Re: Trump and the oval office?

How true is this? What are his chances to get the GOP investiture in 2012? Should he get it, what are his chances of beating Obama? Anyone who dives so deeply into disproven conspiracy theories is not a solid candidate for president....but here in the US anything can happen. I'm astounded daily tha...

Re: Osama bin Laden: Dead

My thoughts on Osama's death: 1. 10 years, 2 wars, 919,967 deaths, & $1,188,263,000,000 later, we managed to kill one person. I hope it was worth it. 2. How many more Osama's have been created in last 10 years? 3. I don't see much worth celebrating at all in this whole mess and likely these celebrat...

Re: Antidepressents don't do jeebers for mild depression

If your husband is a doctor, he should be well aware that a single aberrant result does not prove a trial. The claims made for fish oils are varied but, as yet, there are no conclusive trials showing its efficacy in the treatment of depression. Read this for more of the bollocks that has been spout...

Re: Antidepressents don't do jeebers for mild depression

Well I have a very severe form, I cannot leave the house in winter, I get very paranoid and at its worst I couldn't find the energy to get out of bed and get a drink of water even, and when talking to people my voice was slurred. I really don't think vit D is going to help for cases like mine. I mi...

Re: Antidepressents don't do jeebers for mild depression

Gosh guys....I didn't mean to come off sounding like an anti-drug, new age herb pusher. I simply was interjecting my personal experience.....and figured with the title of the thread it would be safe to do so. While Zoloft worked for me with my post-partum (which I know is totally different than othe...

Re: Antidepressents don't do jeebers for mild depression

My husband is a physician and read about a study in one of his journals…can’t remember which one which is why I didn’t post a link. A person who had failed other drug treatments for schizophrenia and was homeless had such marked improvement with just fish oil that he was capable of holding a job. No...

Re: Antidepressents don't do jeebers for mild depression

Fish oil has been shown to help with depression and even severe disorders like schizophrenia in some patients. I suffer with SAD so this winter started taking vitamin D suppliments, fish oil, and exercising and I felt much better. I think drugs are a last resort. I've had my rounds with zoloft and i...

Re: Female Voices

I second everything Peter Harrison posted (in fact I think he and I had a coversation on RDF about Fever Ray in 2009). I also love Tori Amos and many others who were already mentioned. My additional picks are Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance), Kate Havnevik, and Imogene Heap. Check out: http://www.youtu...

Re: More good movies we've seen.

As far as recent movies.....I saw Red Riding Hood and thought it was very fun. I suspected everyone at one point or another in the movie. The visuals were neat and the soundtrack was awesome.

Re: Just here for sanity

Greetings Circle Cityzen! Do you leave the city during the last weekend in May like I used to? BTW, folks, the Eiteljorg Museum almost makes up for the rest of Indianapolis. I did find that they didn't have nearly enough kids on display at the Children's Museum. Badly misnamed, that. :nono: N...

Just here for sanity

Hi all! I was a member of the RDF but didn't post a lot. I love to just read rational thoughts and am here to interject some sanity in my life. I live in Indianapolis, IN so I am surrounded by conservatives and creationists......kind of tough when you are a liberal atheist! I am in the process of co...
