Re: Movie moments you've remembered for years.
There are so many to choose from, but right now I am thinking of the moment when Charlie Bucket gives back the "ever-lasting-gob-stopper." A desperate and confused boy does what's right. He redeems himself for his infraction and he is pure again. It's almost religious, but in a humanistic way. This c...

Re: Quiz show / Game show intro's
I have no idea how to copy something and put it down, here. It would be nice if you could hear what I refer to. Oh well. My favorites are: Password - the 1960's version, very jaunty and bubbly. 25,000 Pyramid (and various incarnations) 70's to 80's You bet your life -Groucho Marx "hooray for Captain...

Re: So.... Seen Any Good Movies Lately?
No, I am not "Mr. Bella", though I envy the man who is. I was indeed addressing her in my post. However, I can see how it could appear I was calling her my wife. In the wee small hours my punctuation (and my thoughts) disintegrate. Bert

Re: So.... Seen Any Good Movies Lately?
I rarely go to movies. I enjoy dropping my kids off at the movies, then if I am lucky I get to spend nearly two hours at Barnes and Noble. However, I did go to a Christmas Carol (3-d, Jim Carrey) and I liked it. It was a mostly faithful adaptation and there were some beautiful 3-d moments. I could p...

Re: Really, really bad/cheesy films you feel compelled to watch
I actually like a couple of those Annette Funicello beach movies. I can't name them. I don't know if people were ever that wide-eyed or innocent, but it is nice to fantasize that people weren't as jaded as we are today. I like the kitschy colors, the corny characters and the swimsuits. Dumb, but fun...

Re: Really, really bad/cheesy films you feel compelled to watch
I love old Pertwee and T. Baker Doctor Who's . They're all pretty cheesy, but personality driven. Awful movies I love? Valley of the dolls . Marginal book, horrible movie - deliciously horrible. I would love to see Pia Zadora's the Lonely Lady , again, but it is nowhere to be found. No demand? Hmmm?...

Charlou, thank you for your kind words. I do get verbose, especially when it comes to my passion for music.

Re: What is you fave genre?
I do like a melding of Rock and Classical. It can be "a marriage made in heaven" (so-to-speak). That's one of the reasons I have always loved Queen . I think Genesis' "Trick of the tail" is one of the happier marriages of genres. I have an album (he-he) by Transiberian . It's called " Beethoven's la...

Re: The best ever childrens entertainment programme
Anyway, back to television.
I was crossing over into my thirties during the run of "Where in the world is..."
Sad, isn't it.

Yes, closeted as a homosexual, an alcoholic or an abuser of young catholic (wait, maybe methodist) boys. Jeff Smith - not your husband (I presume).

Re: What is you fave genre?
Marvelous picture ! I won't change my genre, but I would, perhaps be willing to change to Philip Glass - but, even Philip Glass in all of his brilliance never had the capacity and range of emotion that Beethoven encompasses, elicits, evokes (looking for the right word). Beethoven's piano sonatas sti...

Re: The best ever childrens entertainment programme
I don't remember when that show was on the air, but I was no kid. Nevertheless, I enjoyed watching it. In addition to my own porn, the French Chef, Jeff Smith, etcetera. In addition, I can't take my eyes off of you. That dang Mona Lisa portrait has the same effect its had on people for centuries. Ev...

Re: What is you fave genre?
Well, P.D.Q. Bach is certainly brilliant and hilarious, but I'm going to be alone on that island for a long time (I presume). I'll need something to soothe my nerves.
