Least favorite war: War on Drugs.

Worst fiasco: War on Poverty.

Favorite imaginary war: War on Xmas.

Shortest War - Anglo-Zanzibar War -- lasted 40 minutes.

Silliest War - the Pig War, between British North America and the US, triggered by the shooting of a pig, the war took place near Vancouver. There was one casualty: the pig.

Longest War - The Netherlands vs. the Scilly Islands -- lasted 335 years, until peace finally declared in 1986.

Drunkest War -- Moldova and Transdniestria went to war after the fall of the Soviet Union. They had a practice of their officers meeting for drinks in the evening, then returning to their regiments to open fire on each other the next day.

Worst Defeat -- The Australians lost the Emu War. Yes, they went to war against emus, and the Australians withdrew, as their attacks against the emus proved ineffectual.

I had to look that up. Turns out the Great Emu War did take place. The hilarity chiefly consists of the fact that those involved took it so seriously. Dad's Army could not possibly top it.

Then the classification, Worst Victory, came to mind. Although it was a battle rather than a war, that would be when Pyrrhus fought the Romans at Asculum in 279 BC. When told about the good news by one of his officers, he said something like: "Another victory like this one, and we're done for."

I suppose the Vietnam war was a goodie.

We could re-fight if you'd like.

BTW:
In an unconfirmed report U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) in Vietnam Claire Pierangelo, and three younger American officials, have reportedly hinted to Vietnamese officials that the U.S. expects the communist government in Vietnam will collapse within the next twenty years.

Actually, I read recently of the possibility that Vietnam will allow a US naval base at Cam Ranh Bay...
