I thought it was the Apache. :ask:

And the Army now has attack helicopters named after them.
How long until the Air Force names a bomber after the Viet Cong? :dunno:

Hmmm...

Reeducation schools where native children were placed in order to "civilize" them after having been forcibly taken from their families. Mortality rates from %30 - %60. Mortality rates in Nazi death camps averaged around %50.

Hey, a little forced sterilization never hurt anyone! They're only savages, after all.

Indigenous people now make up four percent of the Canadian population. But hey, Canada doesn't genocide.

Indigenous people now make up four percent of the Canadian population.
Re-education is not genocide - go argue with the churches and the participants got a fat payout.

What does 4% of a hugely larger population relate to??? - nothing....there are likely more indigenous now than were when the place was first settled.

Nice try tho.....

No one sent generals out with "wipe them out" orders in Canada.....the US did.

Our honouring of commitments to them has been awful and it's a still a patronizing situation and treaties need to be addressed to settle long standing disputes like the Grand River.

In fact, re-education does form one of the defined forms of genocide - see Lemkin's definition, which formed the basis of the UN Convention on Genocide.

I'll grant that point on definition but that was not the purpose unlike in the US, and there have been serious steps taken to redress it
On June 11, 2008, the Prime Minister, on behalf of the Government of Canada, delivered a formal apology in the House of Commons to former students, their families, and communities for Canada's role in the operation of the residential schools.

The Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement

With the support of the Assembly of First Nations and Inuit organizations, former residential school students took the federal government and the churches to court. Their cases led to the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement, the largest class-action settlement in Canadian history. The agreement sought to begin repairing the harm caused by residential schools. Aside from providing compensation to former students, the agreement called for the establishment of The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada with a budget of $60-million over five years.

There are some steps to address what was a far worse approach in the US

Yep. Injuns round here get was is locally referred to as 'the asshole cheque' - usually around $50,000 for reparations. One of my neighbours, an injun, is getting $120,000 in January.

Oh, and the answer to your question, Zilla, is Seminole. :teef:

And two dollar coins! :teef:

I can't wait until we replace all 'paper' currency with coins.
