The squeeze is really on in the UK, and guns are getting harder to obtain.
The result? Gun crime halved in about ten years. And criminals are having to go to greater lengths, to get worse guns, including using antiques.
On the BBC Panorama documentary the other night, they spotlighted a notorious contract killing of a British family on holiday in France that hit the headlines recently. The family were killed with a WW1 Luger pistol, according to French Police. The suspects were seen driving a British car.
And the courts are really taking guns seriously now. West Midlands Police officers were attacked during the riots in 2011.
They came under fire from gang members outside the Barton Arms pub in Aston.
As a result, 10 people were jailed, including Beniha Laing and Wesley Gray, who were sentenced to 35 and 29 years respectively.

There are a lot of criminals thinking twice about using guns now, and are struggling to get one. That's how gun crime has been halved. They have to keep the pressure on, including long jail sentences for any illegal possession. It works.

Gun control DOES work
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
Re: Gun control DOES work
Not a big fan of comparing year on year gun deaths in the UK as the numbers are tiny every year and one nutter with a shotgun can double the figures on his own.
IF one year there is 50 deaths , the next 25 and the one after that its 100 is statistically pretty irrelevant, no if it goes up from 50 to 5000 then its a different matter

When only criminals carry guns the police know exactly who to shoot!

That's fair enough. But the article quoted the drop in firearms OFFENCES, not deaths, so presumably that's a much bigger number.MrJonno wrote:Not a big fan of comparing year on year gun deaths in the UK as the numbers are tiny every year and one nutter with a shotgun can double the figures on his own.
