See, this is the problem I have. There are a lot of talented musicians out there who are equally if not more talented than her, yet they don't feel the need to write catchy pop tunes and make a lot of money from it. I respect them a lot more, they don't dumb down their music or talent or whore an image in exchange for mountains of cash.

She's fun, the tunes are catchy, the videos either make me laugh, keep me guessing, or both, and she's a strong and prominent supporter of marriage equality and LGBT rights. No problem with her whatsoever.

Also, I thought that the "Pussy Wagon" thing was more of an homage than a ripoff.

She is clearly hugely talented and up there with the likes of Madonna and Prince when it comes to projecting a persona. She is riding high on one particular sound at present but I expect her to change tack fairly soon and we will see a completely different side of her.

As for her music - pure fucking ear-worm. It is catchy - but in the same way as chicken-pox. I certainly don't want to catch it. :nono:

Would I hit it? Course. But with a prerequisite in case she tried to fucking sing! :ballgag:

This.

Though I can't help but respect that woman's business sensibilities. Fear them as well, but respect them nonetheless.

Is it really bad that she's growing on you? :P I had kind of the same reaction when I first listened one of her albums, but upon further thought, she does good stuff, in a lot of different ways.

I don't care for all of her tunes, but some of them are quite good. However, even the ones I don't like, I still tend to admire abstractly; "LoveGame" is a bit too much for me, but I am impressed that she made it popular and got it airtime, particularly in the Puritanical States of America.

I'm not sure I can join in the chorus faulting her for cashing in on her talent with pop music; she's obviously quite genuinely talented and it doesn't seem like she's doing a lot of self-editing to make music or money, she's just a strong personality and clever about business. That kind of disruptive quality is probably good for pop music in general, since it tends to converge on mushy mediocrity for obvious reasons.

And she does appear to be a decent person as well, which certainly doesn't hurt.

I didn’t fit in, and I felt like a freak."[8][9]

At age 17, Germanotta gained early admission to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. There, she studied music and improved her songwriting skills by composing essays and analytical papers focusing on topics such as art, religion, social issues and politics.[6][10] She later withdrew from the school to focus on her musical career.[11]

She is far from talentless. While you may not like what she does with the talent that does not make her taletless.

Upon further analysis of her album- there's only a handful of decent songs on there. The rest is incredibly forgettable. But the good stuff is pretty good.

GaGa is undoubtedly talented, but fuck, as far as artistic integrity goes, she's wasting it.

Ke$ha's still much, much better.
