https://www.newyorker.com/news/the-lede ... tle-blower"President Trump and his allies are determined to uproot the deep state, the entrenched government workers who they believe have conspired to thwart Trump’s efforts, if not by outright defiance then by bureaucratic inertia. There are doubtless such pockets of recalcitrance. But, based on the accounts of those who worked alongside Reuveni, and on the public record of his litigation on behalf of the government, Reuveni was not a part of that. He is no flame-throwing member of the resistance nor unreconstructed left-winger."
Attorney General Pam Bondi and Republicans in the Senate are attacking Reuveni. They claim Justice Department attorneys have an obligation to strongly defend the positions and policies of the President.
"Bondi is correct that government lawyers have a duty to zealously represent their client. But she neglects to recognize that attorneys have an additional duty, in some tension with the first, of what is called “candor toward the tribunal.” This ethical requirement means that lawyers cannot lie to courts. The responsibility goes even further. They must correct factual statements that turn out to be wrong. They must disclose relevant precedents that go against them—even if the lawyers on the other side fail to bring them up. They cannot submit evidence they know to be false. All lawyers have this responsibility, but it carries particular weight for government attorneys, whose mission is to do justice rather than to win at all costs. “I think the government lawyer is uniquely positioned,” Reuveni told me. “You’re not just serving a client—you’re serving the public interest.”
"The end of Reuveni’s career at the Justice Department came about in connection to the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was returned to El Salvador that weekend, in violation of a 2019 court order that had found he was at risk of persecution. Reuveni told me that, at first, he did not think this mistaken removal would turn out to be such a big deal: after all, in Trump’s first term, he had seen such accidents be quickly resolved. But, this time, the White House and the Justice Department appeared determined to prevent that from happening."
Reuveni ended up being terminated when as chief prosecutor against Garcia he refused to sign an appeal brief trying to overturn the trial judge's ruling hat Garcia had been illegally deported.

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
trump may not be in good health, but he is tubborn. The Epstein thing might be the first thing to get Trump to crumble.
https://www.threads.com/@tara_stoddard/ ... rv2FV_Ib2AHis base was always going to fracture and turn on him. He promised too many things to too many people that he never could (or planned to) follow through on.
The real question now is how ugly (aka violent) is it going to get for him. Remember - these are the people who shot up a pizza shop because they believed Hillary Clinton was running a pedo trafficking ring in its basement.

Epstein's brother said in 2019 there was evidence found in Epstein's safe...Hard Drives and Thumb Drives full of Videos and Pictures. Dershowitz says information is real. There is a massive coverup going on by Trump, Bondi, and Patel. Trump says to forget it. Why is he saying this??? We all know.

Re: All Things Trump: The Return Of The King
When you bring in your MAGA folks into voting at all, using conspiracy theories, this was expected.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics ... r-AA1IujoYFreaked-Out Trump Pleads for End to MAGA’s Epstein Civil War
Bongino clashed with Bondi over Epstein this week and sparked rumors he was resigning from his role after not showing up to work on Friday. Bongino was reportedly frustrated that Bondi had overpromised but underdelivered on the contents of the Epstein files after previously boasting of being in possession of Epstein’s supposed “client list.”
There has also been speculation that Patel is angling for Bondi to be removed from her position, and has himself threatened to quit if Bongino is forced out in favor of Bondi.
Trump raged on Truth Social Saturday, “LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT! The 2020 Election was Rigged and Stolen, and they tried to do the same thing in 2024 — That’s what she is looking into as AG, and much more.
Trump had previously promised during his campaign that he would “release the Epstein files,“ appealing to his many supporters who have for years traded conspiracy theories about the potential powerful names found on Epstein’s client lists.
The administration’s failure to do so has resulted in harsh rebukes from previously vocal supporters such as podcaster Andrew Schulz, who called Trump out for “doing the exact opposite” of what he’d promised, telling his Instagram followers, ”I voted for none of this.”

--meh, what's a bit more abuse of the people eh?
The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?
