No, it's clearly a matter of accusing Barr of working to protect Trump from what the report actually says. That's the politics. You're confusing your reasoned approach for what is actually happening. We all do that. But make no mistake, people are saying this is a cover up, Barr is working behind the scenes to protect Trump. A conspiracy is being created. Hell, some even suspected Mueller right after Barr's first statement, which remind me, was how long ago now?
You missed my point. If you are complaining that people are dogmatically asserting that it must be the case that "Barr is working behind the scenes to protect Trump", then sure, it is partisan politics. But would you care to assert that such a scenario is impossible?

Release the report, then all this speculation is moot...

Mueller can be made to speak up can't he? If there are questions about the integrity of the report after edits Congress should question Mueller.

Jim, I'm not sure why you think just releasing the report solves these problems, it doesn't.

I'd just encourage us to consider other possibilities for people's actions than conspiracy. For Barr you might consider that being very familiar with the report before releasing it is wise for example.

What would be the downside of releasing the repot?

What is this, the invisible hand will ensure nothing untoward happens as a result of releasing the report to a den of liars and thieves!

The least we can do is give those charged with maintaining the integrity of the report and its findings time to familiarize themselves with it before being faced with the deluge of bullshit sure to follow its release.

If it's dirty laundry, all the more reason to get it revealed as soon as possible. I am all for publicizing the report. If they want to make some "sources and methods" claim or "ongoing investigation" thingy or assert a claim of some legal privilege, then to get my support they would need to make a concrete and clear case for it. I don't trust them with the black magic marker, redacting all sorts of "sensitive" stuff.
I don't think the intelligence agencies care about getting your support Forty Two. I suspect they're more concerned with complying with the Intelligence Identities Protection Act, and keeping the people providing them with intelligence providing more intelligence.

Damned spooks! :lay:
Oh, I'm sure they don't care about getting my support, or the support of anyone else, for that matter.

I'm also fine with them asserting some sort of national security reason for a secret. But, I don't trust them. So, I want specifics about why they need that, and I want someone to commit, with accountability, as to the specific reasons. And, when they lie, I want them fucking prosecuted. I don't trust them.

Do you? Are you going to just let Trump's intelligence agencies decide without accountability what gets kept secret or not? At least without complaining? I see a lot of Democrats very pissed off that we don't have the whole report and all supporting documentation released publicly now - I don't see much worry about sources and methods and such, do you?
No Forty Two, let’s stay on topic, and talk about what you want from the intelligence agencies. You’re the guy complaining after all.

What sort of specifics do you want?

Also, where have you looked to get the answers to your questions? After all, there’s plenty of publicly available information put out by the intelligence agencies, and their oversight committees in Congress. Have you looked there?

If trump gets courts to pull it, then people will stay in the plan to end of the year, as it is a contract. For the election year there will be no health plan and there will be also no restrictions on insurance. Big corporations will keep employee plans as they are self insuring, with the insurance co merely as as a bureaucrat middleman.

Your president, President Scumbag.

Washington -- President Donald Trump is misrepresenting the circumstances of a 7-year-old migrant girl's death as he seeks to steer any potential blame for it away from his administration. Mr. Trump, after mockingly painting asylum seekers as a "con job" in a rally the previous night, asserted on Friday that Jakelin Caal Maquin was given no water by her father during their trek to a remote border area and that the dad acknowledged blame for his daughter's death on Dec. 8.

Those assertions are not supported by the record.

MR. TRUMP: "I think that it's been very well stated that we've done a fantastic job. ... The father gave the child no water for a long period of time - he actually admitted blame." - to reporters Friday.

THE FACTS:  An autopsy report released Friday found that Guatemalan girl died of a bacterial infection just more than a day after being apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol. The El Paso County Medical Examiner's office said traces of streptococcus bacteria were found in Jakelin's lungs, adrenal gland, liver, and spleen, and she experienced a "rapidly progressive infection" that led to the failure of multiple organs.

What that looks like to me is Fox News making sure their audience knows that the named countries are places like Mexico--from which the dreaded brown-skins mount their invasion, intending to steal jobs, bring drugs, rape, and murder.
