Politico:
In less than eight hours, House Democrats moved to an all-out investigative assault on Trump, one that the White House and Republican leaders blasted as unnecessary, openly partisan and a huge distraction from the country’s business.(of building a wall against Mexico and ruining healthcare)

Turkey's purchase of Russian missile system 'defies Nato'
Disunity at 70th anniversary gathering of alliance as Turkish foreign minister criticises Trump

Turkey’s insistence on buying a missile system from Russia is striking a note of disunity as the Nato alliance prepares to mark its 70th anniversary in Washington.

Foreign ministers from the 29-member western alliance are hoping to show a tough, united, front over a resurgent Russia as they meet for two days in the US capital.

But the Turkish foreign minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, declared in Washington that there was no turning back on buying Russia’s S-400 missile defence system – two days after the US suspended the Nato ally’s participation in the F-35 fighter jet programme.
Just scrap it.

Limited information Barr has shared about Russia investigation frustrated some on Mueller’s team
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/na ... story.html
Some members of the office were particularly disappointed that Barr did not release summary information the special counsel team had prepared, according to two people familiar with their reactions.

“There was immediate displeasure from the team when they saw how the attorney general had characterized their work instead,” according one U.S. official briefed on the matter.

Summaries were prepared for different sections of the report, with a view that they could made public, the official said.

The report was prepared “so that the front matter from each section could have been released immediately — or very quickly,” the official said. “It was done in a way that minimum redactions, if any, would have been necessary, and the work would have spoken for itself.”

Mueller’s team assumed the information was going to be made available to the public, the official said, “and so they prepared their summaries to be shared in their own words — and not in the attorney general’s summary of their work, as turned out to be the case.”

...

Some members of Mueller’s team appear caught off guard by how thoroughly the president has used Barr’s letter to claim total victory, as the limited information about their work has been weaponized in the country’s highly polarized political environment, according to people familiar with their responses.

Parting shot. Only 'cause it was too funny not to post.

But I mean it. I'm done here. Anyone still supporting this shit-show is either imbecilic, auto-mendacious, or nefarious. Not much more to say than that.

The painting fails as evidence for the Dutch fleeing lethal carcinogenic windmills since the 12th century because it's been done by an anonymous painter in the style of Pieter Bruegel the Elder, and thus can't have been created before the 16th century! So, FAKE NEWS!

If only we were not so stingy with visas for minimum wage jobs. All these costs of arresting, deporting, hiring new illegals.

President Donald Trump reportedly impressed Republican lawmakers during a retreat at Camp David by “scribbling furious notes” during a discussion on infrastructure, according to a new book detailing the president’s relationship with Capitol Hill.

The book, The Hill To Die On, was written by “Politico Playbook” authors Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer. It was reviewed by Washington Post reporter Ashley Parker.

“During a Republican retreat at Camp David last year, President Trump seemed particularly enthralled as Gary Cohn, then his chief economic adviser, delivered a briefing on infrastructure,” Parker summarized. “The president impressed the assembled lawmakers with his apparent interest in the presentation, nodding along and scribbling furious notes.”

Trump was not actually engaged on the question of infrastructure, according to the new book.

“Instead, Trump had scrawled ‘Sloppy Steve’ atop his index card, followed by ‘copious notes’ criticizing Stephen K. Bannon, his former chief strategist whom he had fired several months earlier,” Parker reported.

The book says “the president was writing down how he wanted to trash Steve Bannon.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.
