Brad Pitt Doesn't Believe in God

Post by Kristie » Fri Jul 24, 2009 6:21 pm

I was positive that this was all just a play on words, and theat it would end up being about a movie or something. Well, I was wrong. My favorite smokin' hot actor, 2nd favorite actually, is a non-believer! I think it's wonderful that a celebrity as huge as he is, is admitting to being at least partially atheist!

http://wonderwall.msn.com/movies/brad-p ... ?gt1=28135

"Inglorious Basterd" Brad Pitt is going to burn in Hellfire for this one: The demi-god thespian was recently interviewed by German Web site Bild.de, and when the reporter asked if he believed in God, Pitt smiled and replied, "No, no, no!" Uh-oh.

Surely all the tabloids are going to blame his she-devil baby mama Angelina Jolie for ruining the Midwestern-born and bred actor's heavenly aura, but Pitt insists he is not a spiritual person.

"I'm probably 20 per cent atheist and 80 per cent agnostic," says Pitt. "I don't think anyone really knows. You'll either find out or not when you get there, and then there's no point thinking about it."

Well, he has a point there. Unless, of course, his soul ends up in purgatory and has to endure centuries of suffering and torment for what he and Angie did to poor, sweet Jennifer Aniston. (That's what Star magazine will have us believe, anyway.)

Wasn't sure where to put this thread, it can be moved if necessary. Probably depends on which direction the posts go.

I feel strangely displeased.

It's like reading that Robbie Williams loves my county.

Fortunately all I know about Brad Pitt is that I think he's famous. That means many people will look up to him and emulate everything that he does.

That has to be quite good in some respects. :?

I could care less about Brad Pitt, but I like people speaking up and being honest when the camera is on them!

Brad pit. Heard of him and I think I've seen him in a film or two. :dono:

I don't pay much attention to celebs. I guess I couldn't care less about them. I like some actors here and there but I'm no where near nuts about them. I don't even bother reading about them.

I find this to be welcome news. I really think this could spark a chain reaction in the US. We are, in general, dumb asses who give far too much weight to celebrities. If mega stars such as Pitt start popping up endorsing the low faith lifestyle, we may get much more purchase. Even beyond Pitt, I'd say Radcliffe may have significant impact with the upcoming generation. It's okay to be atheist...*daydreaming*

I'm not holding my breath to see an openly atheist president anytime soon, though.... or... ever.... :nono:

What did they do to Jennifer Aniston? Those bastards, I'll kill em.

I don't think Brad Pitt is popular enough that anyone really gives a shit what he thinks, though it could just be me, since I don't follow celebrities. I do like Brad Pitt, though. Never took him seriously until I saw him in 12 Monkeys, and I absolutely loved him in that. Also liked him quite a lot in Snatch. Never seen Babel, but it's in my amazon.com cart. I don't remember why. I mean, I don't remember what it was that made me think it was something I ought to buy. I wouldn't think to buy it just because Pitt was in it.

Anyway. Kinda weird that Pitt should be asked this question in the interview. Does anyone know the context? Seems like a peculiar question to ask an interviewee. Sad that it should even be an issue, as well. Being an atheist shouldn't be unusual. Being a theist, on the other hand, that should be the exception and not the rule. Unfortunately, this isn't the type of world we live in, apparently. We still haven't shaken loose from our superstitions. It's the twenty-first fucking century for cryinoutloud, and people still believe in gods :nono:

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

OMG, Tat is posting! If I knew all I had to do was start a thread about Brad Pitt to get him posting again, I would've done it ages ago!
