And howdy there, familiar name. We're mainly about socialising and fun and have a relaxed atmosphere, and going where conversations lead us. You'll see a number of differences between here and RS, but they can be complementary. Hello there! I've been enjoying spending a bit more time at your regular haunt these days-- it's like an exchange program!

Though I think I'll retain my Rationalian citizenship. ;)

Hi and welcome to the forum, Metatron. I spend most of my time here when I have free time to spend. Thusly, I'm not a scholar. More like a carpenter. Have fun here, and you're expected to discuss the pros and cons of weapon ownership since you have American ancestry, however tenuous that is. :ddpan:

Just be warned, the moderators are more lenient and oddly, more rational and open to controversial opinions too.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

The crank is clearly shown on the side of the box.

Hi Metatron. I'm also a cut-throat razor aficionado, though mostly I wear a beard. You sound like an interesting guy.

I like my razors a bit tipsy too. Those straight edge types all seem a little fanatical.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Well! Thanks all, for the compliments on my introduction post. I was feeling blabby, apparently.

Yeah, I think it is a different ruleset over here, seems a little less regimented. Which probably serves to give each of the forums their own particular flavors, if you will.

For the moment, I have a little time on my hands. I just crashed the shit out of my bicycle, and I'm off work for a month. So, I have no excuse to slag off my homework for a few weeks, and I can get some time on the forums.

See you around, here and there.
