Re: Farscape
Farscape is frelling awesome
Though Crichton is my least favorite character. Ben Browder did a good job and everything, and I know his character is supposed to be kinda annoying. But I find him annoying even beyond that. And the whole Crichton/Aeryn on-again-off-again romance became tiresome after a while, especially since I just watched the entire series from start to finish. Another thing that annoyed me about the series was the habit of the writers killing off the characters and then bringing them back, some of them, like, several times
But all in all I loved the series. My favorite characters were Zhaan, Rygel, and Pilot. Though I did have a huuuuuuge crush on Claudia Black for the longest time

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

Farscape
Loved Farscape, kind of a sudden ending though, shoehorning an entire season worth of story into a 2 part mini series wasn't ideal, one of the few great sci fi series though, along with B5 and Bsg(new one)

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Re: Farscape
Well, the series was cancelled. We only got the mini series because there was such an uproar over the cancellation from the fans that somehow or other financing was found to wrap things up story-wise. A mini series was less than ideal, but it was better than nothing. I'm assuming Sci-Fi cancelled the show because of its extraordinary cost. The series was always run at a loss.Don't Panic wrote:Loved Farscape, kind of a sudden ending though, shoehorning an entire season worth of story into a 2 part mini series wasn't ideal, one of the few great sci fi series though, along with B5 and Bsg(new one)
What pisses me off is that I have a tattoo started on my back, and have too much into it to cover it up now with something else. And yet it suddenly occurred to me recently that Pilot would fit so perfectly in that spot

Re: Farscape
I'm struggling through the first season. I really, really, hate the character John Crichton(SP?). I mean I get that he's in a new, unfamiliar and scary universe but his glib idiocy is so over the top that it's just irritating. He's supposed to be an astronaut and a scientist but he acts like a naive idealist diplomat that's been lobotomized. I don't know who wrote his character in the show, but so far I'm thinking it must have been George Lucas - he's a human Jar Jar Binks.
Other than that supremely annoying character, it's a decent show so far. The other characters are only slightly shallow and unbelievable occasionally. I'm told it gets much better after the first season.

Re: Farscape
Farscape was great, all the more so for making humanity a bunch of backwards inept doofi. Quite daring for T.V. that.
