So I just laughed really hard.

For personal reasons, I needed to know when Ralph Bakshi's half baked (and never finished) attempt at the Lord of the Rings dates from... so I take a loook at the wiki page, and stumble on a list of every movie maker who ever had a project about it in his pocket.
and they state that stanley kubrick (admittedly a guy for whom I have little esteem even if there are those who'll talk my ears off about how he made so many masterpieces, but I guess that my opinion about what constitutes a masterpiece satisfies me better than theirs) deemed that book totally unfimable. a shame he died in 99, peter jackson would have given him one hell of a lesson in moviemaking.
