I've been suspended from ratskep for 6 months for having a sock-puppet. My sock-puppet was 'madnomad'. It was created in the early summer of 2013, nearly two years ago. Until the last weekend, madnomad had never made a post. He was created
for no other purpose than to READ the subforums inaccessible to non-members (during the fairly frequent suspensions I've had). Then I did a stupid thing. I won't bore you all with the details, but I banned myself the previous week pending an overview of my philosophy for interested members there (who had requested it). That meant voluntarily turning off my automatic log-in for jamest. However, I was still interested in reading the forum, so logged-in as 'madnomad'.
I was stupid enough, for a sufficient time at least, to forget that I did all of this. Several days later, I decided to produce an overview of my philosophy but forgot that I was now automatically logged in as 'madnomad': post 211, page 11, of the thread "Jamest: explain your philosophy/metaphysics" (philosophy forum - ratskep)*
The bottom line is that I was posting as jamest, but fucked-up (I forgot to log in as jamest). I just want someone from here to make clear to the members over there that I was never a sock-puppet in the dodgiest sense of being one. That is, I never gave thumbs-ups to myself (jamest) nor EVER posted
anything other than the aforementioned mistaken post. Yes, I created a duplicate account, but I'm not a dick. Being a theist doesn't automatically qualify you as being a dick.
If there's a 'legal' way of a member here conveying this message to the members of ratskep, I'd be very grateful.
I also anticipate getting a fair amount of grief from creating this thread, but fuck it. I'll survive.
