I just don't see how this works ... You'll have to explain it better please.Uselesstwit wrote:That's actually what I was asking about earlier, if town doesn't vote it should push back the end of the game and give our specials the time they need to work. It is totally in scums favor to make this game short and confusing.

Re: Timebomb Day 1
My guess would be that scum probably max out a persons vest overnight. That seems to be roughly equivalent to a night kill in this style of game.

The problem we don't know exactly what will trigger endgame. We need to scumhunt during the days.Uselesstwit wrote:right, but if we have a seer and they out straight off, a scum role blocker would instantly cut their views in half if they have the no two nights in a row restriction, if they don't have that our seer is then useless. I'd rather keep scum guessing, in fact if there is a seer i'd say don't out for a couple days no matter what, since it doesn't look like there is a way to go below zero we should be able to pile the votes on the entire scum team in two days max. That's actually what I was asking about earlier, if town doesn't vote it should push back the end of the game and give our specials the time they need to work. I'm not sure how good our scumhunting can be without occasionally applying some lynch-vote pressure.

I might guess they get a vote each ???Fuzzy Fungi wrote:My guess would be that scum probably max out a persons vest overnight. That seems to be roughly equivalent to a night kill in this style of game.

Re: Timebomb Day 1
okay, my thinking is that zigmen said the game would end when enough people are armed. Since town needs time to gather information the longer that takes the better it is for us. This game design seems to hinge on town shooting itself in the foot, but like all mafia games the more info town has the better. So say none of us vote today, when tomorrow roles around we'll be able to see exactly how night actions affected our numbers. Also every day we don't have zigmens unknown number of us armed is another chance for a view or tracking or whatever town has going for it.
As for bolero's question, the seer will have to out at some point, but since we only need to drop 6+ points on any scum she finds we could arm 1 or 2 scum a day so it wouldn't take long for get them armed. On the otherhand if they out early and we dump a bunch of points on a scum she finds for all we know scum could remove those points at night so we'd have no way of knowing if they we're still armed the next day.

The thing is, we won't know what's happened, because the codeword roster thingy won't tell us who's been targetted - it'll just give us a letter. So if I've been "maxed out", for instance, I can tell you all that, but how would you know whether to believe me or not, because all you can see beside my name is a letter?Feck wrote:I might guess they get a vote each ???Fuzzy Fungi wrote:My guess would be that scum probably max out a persons vest overnight. But will we? We won't be any the wiser, surely - we'll have codes, not point values, next to our names.Uselesstwit wrote: So say none of us vote today, when tomorrow roles around we'll be able to see exactly how night actions affected our numbers.

This is a really good point, but we have to take it slow and be very careful of bandwagons. Because we're not going to have so much of our normal info this game.

Re: Timebomb Day 1
fair point, i was counting on people just telling us if their point totals changed, but there will be some lying, that we won't be able to verify until the op of day 3, when we'll actually get to see the letter change.Bolero wrote:But will we? Not so different then observing who piles on the votes in a lynching then, but Feck, why have you not answered Charlou's question?Feck wrote:I might guess they get a vote each ???Fuzzy Fungi wrote:My guess would be that scum probably max out a persons vest overnight. I am trying really hard not to get paranoid here, but your evasion seems slightly scummy.
This is a good question. The only problem, though, is how town specials convey the results of their work. I mean, what use is a seer if they can't tell us what they've seen?
Dammit, crosspost.

Re: Timebomb Day 1
We could out nothing but our code names ! It's not fool proof scum could still lie but those town who can add a vote at night (I presume there is a vig type person of some sort )would know .

Re: Timebomb Day 1
The only thing that concerns me about this is that in the OP, Zig mentioned that scum know something about the codewords that town don't know. I'd rather not leap to outing them just yet.Feck wrote:We could out nothing but our code names !
