They seem to be holding some kind of festival.
They're having pumpkins for pudding.
Nothing for us to worry about.

Thanksgiving Day is a tradition in our country dating back to the early European settlers in Plymouth, Massachusetts, known as Pilgrims. Members of the Wampanoag tribe and the Pilgrims had a three-day feast in 1621, because they could. Life had not been so kind to the settlers in prior years, causing the starvation of many. Nearly half of their number had died of disease, starvation, and exposure.
This was a bit before the settlers took over the country.

My fav. holiday though! Lots of food and family without having to worry about stupid presents.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

They have Thanksgiving in Canada as well. It happens about a month before the US, and instead of eating turkey, they eat people.
