I don't think I've seen an Oblivion game with compulsory voting, but it's best for town if everyone votes. Why do you ask this?
I just never feel comfortable voting on Day 1. I don't have any feel for anything yet... I'll vote if it's necessary, but it's just a bit of a crap shoot.
Town will make mistakes on day one. Its voting patterns of day 1 that can help town latter in the game.
I think not voting day 1 is anti-town.

I voted Athene regent just for a view, assuming there is a seer.
I do wonder if scum knew who their buddys are prior to the regent vote. Would be a risky move to pile on votes for scumbuddy though.
But worth while esp if there is a Don .
Also especially if the Regent hasn't been nightkilled after a few days.

I'm in agreement there. Looks to be playing the new noob card. I know they have played a few games so the clueless act pings hard.

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Az is our regent and drops the mason claim into the mix with the caveat the his 'teammate' can do what he/she likes ... and the only person who comments and engages on that is adenosine???

That's dumb reason to think the mayor is cleared. More often than note the seer doesn't do this, at least in my TR experience, so it's never safe to assume the mayor has been cleared unless a seer explicitly says so and then you still have to weigh in the small chance of the mayor being a don.

Better to let the mayor's play clear him/her.

I thought this odd too.
I was waiting to see if another mason outs. If not this is ponderous!
Even if another does out it could be two scum with a great story. Dangerous at endgame. 1 would have to go to clear the other I think.

Aza,
Did you know who your mason buddy was before you voted?
This will give us an idea if scum knew who each other was before they voted.
