Re: String theory is what?
The only important point here, The Dagda, is why you persist with such an angry posting style, one neither suited to a sober discussion of physics, nor the laid back groove of Ratz? Virtually every post you have made in this thread has been angry, confrontational and dismissive of others responses. Surely it is possible for you to communicate your aversion to String theory without the drama and angst...

Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!
And my gin!
Re: String theory is what?
The only thing I'm angry at is your piss poor moderation. The other is just a posting style if you don't like it then whine like a girl but don't bother me with your soulless bilge about how people who are emotionless mushrooms are great and to be lauded over those who have a posting style out of your comfort zone.
I don't care! If I break the rules warn me before you ban me, or its just going to make things worse, unless the infraction is so grevious that a warning is inapt. Get it?
Telling the truth about someone is hardly a sin against God and nature. And even a child should be given the discretion to prove he can behave before you smack him and send him to his room. I don't even deserve that much respect from you, so you'll get the same scant regard from me until you prove you can behave like a mature person, not a petulant ban happy mod.

Dagda, if you insist on a warning, fine. Here it is. You have resorted to name-calling and that is in violation of the rules. Another incident will result in a vacation. Play nice.

Point made though, don't do it again unless I claim the holocaust didn't happen or something. It's common sense. Some people need a practical lesson to show their mistakes. Moderators don't do mistakes, so they need it more than most.
By the way I think it did happen.

Say what you like about ideas, but be careful when talking about people. Thank you.

I don't think asking someone to study a subject at a level beyond pop science is much of an insult but meh. Whatever. Ok.
And I just call String Theorists hypocrites/idiots, the people on this thread don't know enough about the subject to be really enslaved by Operation Mindcrime yet.

You break the rules here and you criticise the fact that we try to enforce them? That's not logical, nor are the rules Draconian. They may be found in all their simplicity here: http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3449 Common sense might include reading the way we have evolved to operate; its works for us.The Dagda wrote:Thank you.Hyundai wrote:MOD NOTE:The Dagda wrote:The only thing I'm angry at is your piss poor moderation. Oh shut up, this is patronising I'm not 9 and I don't need to be lectured to. You know the point I made is solid, stop trying to make this all about something it is not. I was bad that's not the point though.Tigger wrote:You break the rules here and you criticise the fact that we try to enforce them? That's not logical, nor are the rules Draconian. If that is the way you operate as ban happy patronising jerks then far be it from me to criticise. Knock yourselves out. At least I know where I stand in my room with no appellate procedure. Got it.
I've read the rules nowhere does it say we will ban you for the slightest infraction without warning and without giving you any chance to understand why you were banned. Nor will we even send you an email, nor answer your complaints because we are above common courtesy. That's draconian.
Some people are wet blankets and boringly lifeless and the only way they can get their jollies is by getting people banned got it.

While we discuss the next step, you might consider reading this:
FORUM RULES:
Play nice, please . Those who intentionally harass other members, openly or via private correspondence, will be penalised. Intentional malicious trolling and use of offensive language, images or jokes, with the intention of harassing, intimidating, tormenting or persecuting another member, or in the knowledge that such posts are likely to cause widespread general offense, will not be tolerated. The penalty will depend on the severity of the infraction and will be decided upon via staff discussion.
Please note: Offensive language, images and jokes are not in themselves disallowed, merely their application to intentionally harass or cause widespread offense. Also, if a member wishes to post an image which is relevant to the discussion but they believe there is a chance it may cause upset or offense, they are requested to spoiler the image and add a clear warning in red. Members who persist in posting potentially upsetting or offensive images without spoilers and warnings will be subject to our reminder/warning/suspension policy. Context will always be considered and staff reserve the right to remove images we deem inappropriate.
No personal attacks. If you don't agree with someone, debate their argument, behaviour or beliefs, do not attack their person. Attacks may be direct ("You are a cunt.") or indirect ("Somebody with that view is stupid."). Personal attacks will not be tolerated. The initial penalty for a first personal attack will usually be a reminder or warning - however the choice of penalty will depend on the severity of the attack and will be decided upon via staff discussion. Attacks made in jest (with the understanding of both/all parties - tacit or otherwise) are allowed. In the first instance, staff will attempt to ascertain if an attack was in jest. Staff will discuss the attack with both parties where possible and then decide what action to take.

Yes a ban I know I am right you are wrong. Well done your earning your pay. If this is your response to criticism then ban me already I can do without the patronising garbage and fluff that passes for apologetics for your piss poor system of arbitrary indiscretion.Hyundai wrote:MOD NOTE:The Dagda wrote:Oh shut up, this is patronising I'm not 9 and I don't need to be lectured to. If you consider constructive comments about mistakes as harassment then there really is no hope for you. I am patronising you too in case you hadn't noticed, but then you are not my mother you have no right to treat me with no respect and like a child.
When confronted with contempt scorn is required.
You are boring me now, seen it been there done the T shirt thing, wrote the book, starred in the movie, was given an x certificate. Got perma banned from this forum for having the nerve to question your authoritah, and so on ad nauseum.
Oh and by some people I didn't mean the mods they are just the tools by which trolls and flame warriors operate. You are nothing more than that.
Sned me an email in hell, i'll probably even read it. But then you don't do complaints 48 hours later and no reply to an email. Pathetic.
