It is really not that difficult to check.
The chances that alien life would have identical biochemistry to life-forms on Earth is so small it isn't worth considering.
Therefore you check the amino-acids, the DNA, the chirality of the molecules and the energy metabolism.
If the are the same as Earth's life, you can say with some confidence that it came from Earth.

Not very likely.

Basic biochemistry would be similar. Most adaptive efficient forms...likely humanoid, fingers are more dexterous than claws etc... As we've seen with humans, cultural technology overcomes all other natural boundaries when developed. And is vastly faster in its evolution than the biological forms....fast and forward enough to be off planet.

@rainbow That doesn't really make sense. If you allow for billions of years of environment related changes, then you wouldn't expect them to be the same biochemistry as you said.

Anyway, even given acid for blood and silicon based skin....it'd make sense for a Type I Kardeshev civilization to blot out all competitors on sight and have constructed a militarised robot based galactic autonomous lilly-pad system so any newly formed potential competitors can be blotted out before they have time to evolve into a issue. Easily doable with straightforward extrapolations of existent production technologies here and doable at sub light speed within a couple of million years. So you'd better hope they are not long lived enough to be out there, and have claimed a monoculture on the galactic resource base - cos if they are they will turn up on our doorstep in the coming decades and be unfriendly.

And if it had a shield, it didn't work, because there was stuff oozing out of it. Which would have evaporated in a split second, if it was tearing through the upper atmosphere, glowing white hot.
I doubt if it would be possible to shield something so tiny from the heat.
You wouldn't have enough thickness of insulation.
