USA
At least we're not Turkey!!!
At least we're not Turkey!!!
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Seems to be a USA vs Europe list with Japan thrown in for good measure. Interesting lack of anything southern hemisphere or African though, which makes me think the USA would look quite good if everyone else was added. The Mad Hatter wrote:Country ain't even on the last.

You have to factor in the fact that Americans are very good at lying on polls. They don't do this deliberately in most cases, they just give the answer they're "supposed to give". It's likes saying they're christian when you don't have to be here long to know that 99% of them don't have a clue what that means.

Ireland's lower down than expected considering the Catholic Church accept it.

That's because at least 20% of Irish people can be guaranteed to say "no" to any question or proposal put to them.Animavore wrote:Ireland's lower down than expected considering the Catholic Church accept it.

At we aren't Iran or Saudi Arabia!
I can live with doubt, and uncertainty, and not knowing. I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong. [...] I don’t feel frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly. It doesn’t frighten me. - Richard Feynman
