So we have a line that we represent as being from point A to point Z. The distance of the line is known to be 10 units. Along the line we identify points T, L , and B. We know the length of line LB is just under 0.5 and TL is 6, but where they exist on the AZ line is unknown.

So now we have the issue of attempting to represent all possible values for line BLT. We know the total value is about 6.49 from above, as well as from independent sources. The question then becomes, "When we hand AZ our 10, how will we get our change back?" We can represent this in all possible variations of possible change:

3 + .10 + .10 + .05 + .25 + .01 = 3.51, 3 + .50 + .01 = 3.51,
3 + .25 + .25 + .01 = 3.51, 3 + .25 + .05 + .05 + .05 + .05 + .05 + .01 = 3.51, etc...

Either way the total sum should be the original 10 minus 6.49 for the tasty BLT.
