Don't be silly. You don't fly a plane into that sort of thing, you fly a plane over it and drop devices onto it. I thought you would have learned that by now. :twisted:Gawdzilla wrote:I've always wanted to learn how to fly a plane, into this:FBM wrote:I'm thinking that in the future, winning a WoW competition could very well be rewarded with a commercial pilot's license.

My limited experience with virgins was enough to make me avoid them. There was only one time I willingly took a virgin to bed, and that was a favor.FBM wrote:Gawdzilla wrote:But, but, but... the virgins!!!!

Never found a one that knew anything about flying an airplane from the ground, either.Gawdzilla wrote:My limited experience with virgins was enough to make me avoid them. Alright, so roughly half the respondents would fly in an airplane in which there is no pilot. Extrapolating ridiculously, that means half of Ratzians are out of their fucking minds.
Mind you, I also voted thusly.

I'd have no problem flying on a plane with a sufficiently sophisticated autopilot and no human pilot.
No way I'd fly in a remotely piloted airplane. If there's a human pilot, I want his life to be at stake too if there's a crash.

Doesn't look like it would've made much difference here: http://edition.cnn.com/2012/03/28/trave ... ?hpt=hp_t3Warren Dew wrote:I'd have no problem flying on a plane with a sufficiently sophisticated autopilot and no human pilot.

But of course, that sort of thing is very rare...

Re: Pilotless airplanes. Would you fly in one?
We already do fly in "pilotless" aircraft. I was on a South African Airways flight a few years ago and the landing was a bit bumpy, the pilot came on and apologized, saying they were testing the autopilot and no human had touched the controls since we took off. So yeah, I would, as long as it wasn't running Windows.
On another note, I'm taking a ride on this today:

It's a 1929 Ford Tri-Motor "Tin Goose" from the Experimental Aircraft Association. It's touring Florida and is at the Sarasota airport now, a ride costs $80. It most definitely has a pilot.

Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

The serial no. (via Google) says it's a Ford, as does the distinctive fin/rudder.Gawdzilla wrote:Fokker or Ford?

Ford, number 146 of 200 produced and the last airworthy one left. Pretty cool opportunity.
EDIT I shall be snapping and posting pics. Should take off right over my house, I've been watching it that last two days. It's a noisy bitch.

One assumes there was a crew on board, "just in case".... In 1947 a US Air Force C-54 made a transatlantic flight, including take-off and landing, completely under the control of an autopilot.
