I was curious and looked it up... apparently there's no connection between the Australian and the 5-and-10 American Woolworth's.

Thanks for the suggestion. It is indeed regrettable that someone's totally innocuous remark that she works at a Woolworths store too has snowballed into someone else's angry comments that included "fuck off" twice. I'll just let this drop in this tread and say
