Never heard of it so I just did a search. I certainly like the look of it! I've never played computer games, though, and this is described as a "point and click" game. Not sure what that means exactly  But I see from the official website that I can play the demo free to try it out

Nah. I'm not fond of this Skyrim at all. The fighting system is complete shite. I've been totally spoilt by Dark Souls and can't play with this fiddly nonsense. There's no feeling of power, skill or bad-arsery. Even when it cuts as you fell the last enemy to show you an action shot the terrible animation ruins the immersion as a sword which is clearly meant to go through a wolf's mouth, say, goes past the outside of its head without connecting. I don't know why there aren't fast buttons to switch out weapons on the left and right hand. Why are left and right on the d-pad just sitting there doing nothing?

Also, it's too big. This mightn't be a problem if there was some feeling of progression and goal but it just seems to be a sprawling world where you just dick around doing stuff in a desultory manner. I spent years doing this in real life as a teen. The story doesn't interest me and the acting - it's like a reading in church! Again, after playing the wonderful, The Last of Us, an unparalleled example of story-driven gaming, I'm spoilt rotten. I expect more from my gaming. Doesn't help the characters walk around like mental patients and their range of facial expressions is less then that of the average porno.

Nine out of ten game my arse. I'd give it five or six, and that's after I've given it anthrax.

Finally got round to starting Bioshock Infinite. It's quite something to look at

I've just recently bought a whole load of games, but I'm not sure when I'll get around to playing them all. Still catching up with games that came out a few years ago.

Currently playing:
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Alice: Madness Returns
Mark of the Ninja
Stacking
Natural Selection 2

And soon/eventually to play:
The Bridge
Intrusion2
The Walking Dead
Incredipede
FEZ
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

Okay so this new Bioshock was boring at first. All I did was walk through one area after another, not really being able to much of anything. Ran across a bunch of annoying religious twats. Wished I had a gun to shoot them but at that point I did not. Then came to a larger area in which I encountered lots of townspeople. Who all looked the same :what:
I've gotten to a bit of action, finally, but I have a problem in that I keep getting shot at...by enemies or machine guns I can't see. "WHO THE FUCK IS SHOOTING AT ME?!" I cry in despair. And there's no way to hide behind something and peek around the corner. In order to find the enemy or machine gun turret, I have to...expose myself :?

Okay I'm several hours into this Bioshock game and it's not doing much for me. It's not scary or creepy like the first two, and the gameplay is just boring. It's just, collect ammo and health and money (which are curiously often in the trash), walk through this area or that, and occasionally fight some enemies. Nothing really new here. The storyline is intriguing, and the "Irish and coloreds bathroom only" signs are funny. But so far this is all rather humdrum.

Okay so Bioshock Infinite is rather short. To me, it lacks the charm of the first two games. It does have a good story. Pretty bold in that regard actually. I'm on my second playthrough and I'm actually listening more to what the characters say, and listening to the voxophone recordings (something I didn't bother with the first time). It's easier now this second time now that I know what to expect. I now know what is shooting at me, and from where. Gameplay is still kind of boring. It's all just: kill enemies, pick up money ammo and health, repeat, repeat, repeat. There's not a heck of a lot to do in the game besides that. There are a few hidden areas, and some sparsely scattered side quests. The side quests are very simple, and the reward is rarely worth the trouble. Grappling onto the rails and riding them around is kind of fun I guess, but is frustrating because there isn't a lot to do once you get up there. You should really be able to gain access to lots of hidden places you wouldn't see from the ground. But mostly the rails are there simply to get from one place to another.
This game doesn't give me a sense of jaw-dropping wonder like the first two did. I'm glad they tried something different. Doing another in the style of its predecessors would have been tiresome. But this just fell flat for me for the most part. Also, Elizabeth is more annoying than anything else. It's not like Ico, for instance, where I fall in love with my female companion. Here, she just gets in my way mostly, and I don't form any kind of bond with her or care about her.
The final battle was annoying as hell. I actually took the disc out of my PS3 and didn't even plan on finishing the game because I was so pissed off, but eventually I went back and succeeded after multiple attempts. Toward the very end on the game, where they end up back underwater, made me nostalgic for the earlier games. It reminded me how good they were, and how much more I liked them compared to this. Just seeing the old underwater environment again, however briefly, gave me goosebumps.

I finished Bioshock Infinite a second time. No way in hell I'm gonna spend more money on DLC. I already spent sixty bucks on the goddamn thing. That's enough. So I'm through with this one. Already sold it on ebay, in fact. Now playing The Last of Us.

Batman Arkham City. Wow I hate this game. Of course I hate nearly every game when I first start it. But still, I hate this game. The graphics are nicely done, except that there's too much detail. Or maybe the color palette doesn't allow the viewer (or me, at least) to differentiate foreground from background, or one object from another. I dunno. All I know is that the visuals are so goddamn busy, I can't tell what the hell's what. I can't even tell what the hell I'm looking at. It's even difficult to see the enemies. I'll be up on a building, for instance, and this icon will come up to tell me I can do do a glide kick attack. And I'm like, "Huh? Against who? I don't fucking see anybody." So I just shrug, press the square button, and there goes Batman, swooping down and kicking somebody that I didn't even know was there.
Also, I know I was spoiled by just playing The Last of Us, but holy fuck the dialogue here is sub-moronic and the voice acting is atrocious.
And other shit. The game is just stupid, retarded and annoying. I can see myself putting it up on ebay real fast.

I hate the hand-holding a lot of games have now. They flash the buttons or highlight the critical areas you need to hit to complete your boss fights and shit. They've got big shiny icons in your face telling you which way to go.. I remember the goold old days when you'd spend hours figuring out how to win a boss fight and wandered around like a tool trying to find the place you're supposed to be. :sigh:

Charles Dance to Voice Nilfgaard Emperor in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
“Charles Dance is the perfect candidate to play the mighty Nilfgaardian emperor in our upcoming title. It’s a dream come true for the team here at RED to be able to work with such an accomplished actor and magnetic personality,” said Marcin Blacha, Lead Writer for the title.

I finished Arkham City. It did get better as it went along, or I just got used to it is all. Still don't like it as much as Arkham Asylum. Didn't do any of the extras available in the GOTY (game of the year) edition. Not that enthusiastic. Sold it on ebay.

Now I'm playing Fallout 3 GOTY. Interesting that this new game recognizes my old save file from the regular edition game. I entered my old game, all leveled up and such, but with new campaigns to attend to. Only thing is, it'd been so long that I couldn't remember any of the controls. So I said fuck it and started a new game from the beginning.

For the last year, most of what I've been playing has been Borderlands 2, but lately I've been getting a bit tired of it.
I also really like Saints Row 3, haven't finished the main storyline yet though.
Don't really feel like revisiting Fallout 3 or New Vegas.
Don't want to play Dead Space 3 more, I was sort of worn out on it.
I won't be in the position to buy anything other than maybe the odd game on sale for a while; I have more essential things to buy. Need to replace my office chair, and need to buy Ethernet cable. The wireless signal where I live is complete garbage.
