Jethro Tull
Up early this cold grey January morning, working on a client's book while listening to Jethro Tull 's Heavy Horses. While Songs From the Wood will always be special to me, I believe Heavy Horses is their absolute masterpiece.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

Aqualung, and Benefit. Quite fond of Living in the Past, too. Heavy Horses is great.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Re: Jethro Tull
Thick as Brick and Stand Up, first two I had. I also only saw them once, that period. He did do Aqualung too. I saw Ian about 5 years ago, his voice is gone.

I saw him, as an old dude, in ridiculously good shape, performing at a small venue.
Not bad music, but he could have done better at the gymnastic stuff, if he had been willing to drop the damned flute.
Who the fuck plays a flute anyway?

Ian. And my daughter. Plus electric guitar. She played two songs in school of rock. They played Paranoid and a Lenny Kravitz song. The drummer and she held the song together for the singer. The lead guitarist sucked. He did play all the notes of paranoid, off beat.

Mr. Anderson should GROW UP, and use an adult rock and roll instrument.
Your daughter is ok for now.

Re: Jethro Tull
He plays saxophone. Many flautists do. He also played bass on unknown tracks amd taught Jeffrey Hammond Hammond all his bass parts, together with Barre. Jeffrey was good at memorizing.
Aqualang, despite heavy riffs by Barre, was half way an acoustic album headed by Ian’s acoustic guitar.

Barre is a very underrated guitarist.

As bassists go, I like that Wooten guy...looks like he would be crappy at it (like most bass players) but when he gets going...holy fuck.
