Re: Really cheesy music!
some kind of Finnish comedy show. They mime a surf music tune in the first 3 minutes. Start at 1 minute.

These were really popular in the early 60s. Folk songs turned into surf or a twist. The bands did not need to sing. Finnish or English.

The Sounds - Mandshurian Beat (it is based on a tune, below, about the hills of Manchuria). Russian:

The accordion version: Dallape orchestra had the oldest recordings in Finland on 78s.

Finnish guitar groups copied the Shadows style, not the Ventures.

Nothing beats the Ventures' choreography (though the Shadows did the same)

Re: Really cheesy music!
This is my absolute favorite surf tune. Paul wrote it when he was 17. I met him at a small event in 2010 or so. He was in one of two performing Surfaris lineups then. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Johnson_(guitarist) Paul is now 75, also in the "not dead yet" category.
