For the fiscal (and calendar) year 2021, Tesla reported a net income of $5.52 billion.[514] The annual revenue was $53.8 billion, an increase of 71% over the previous fiscal year.[514]
Tesla ended 2021 with $17.6 billion of cash on hand, down $1.8 billion from the end of 2020.[148]: 31 

In February 2021, a 10-K filing revealed that Tesla had invested some $1.5 billion in the cryptocurrency bitcoin, and the company indicated it would soon accept bitcoin as a form of payment.[82] Critics then pointed out how investing in cryptocurrency can run counter to Tesla's environmental goals.[516][517] Tesla made more profit from the 2021 investment than the profit from selling cars in 2020, due to the Bitcoin price increase after the investment was announced.[518][519]

The quarter ending June 2021 was the first time Tesla made a profit independent of Bitcoin and regulatory credits.

Nasty judge rules that Musk can't have his $56 billion Tesla pay package, even though the shareholders voted for it. Lawyers for Tesla argued that the remuneration was necessary to keep Musk interested and involved in the day-to-day running of the business - even though he's the major shareholder.

1% of $56bn is $560,000,000 btw. Dividing Musk's pay between Tesla's c.120,000 employees ≈ $466,667 each.

Should let him have the money. He won't sit on it like a ordinary billionaire. Get at least a moon mission, maybe a mars one too, before he comes back for more. Not saying he ain't a bad man, but he's a geek, he's our bad man so to speak. A science man behind the wire, in Trumps realm, risking it all for the lulz we all would hold dear in a similar position.
