$300,000,000,000 hey? Almost makes it worth having a new war with the runaway colony?

He is barely hanging in there. And really fat sitting in the chairs they put out for photo ops. Someone is able to tie a nice tie knot on him, though.

I will be doing a Press Conference in 45 minutes from France. I’ll then be heading to Versailles for Dinner with French and other European Leaders, and then back home tonight! The trip was a Great Success but, mostly what people wanted to talk about, is the fact that Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon, and that the Strait of Hormuz will immediately be opened!

I recall that the fellow who misused Rumpole as his avatar complained that members of this site didn't acknowledge all the things that Trump 'accomplished' in his first term. It was bullshit then, but the second term is comprehensively fucked up.

I can't think of a single thing that the revolting wannabe despot and his toadies have done since getting back into power that has benefitted the United States. They've most definitely done the opposite. It isn't just the US though; the gutting of USAID being one example. It seems like they're deliberately stomping on anything productive or helpful that the US government does. It's depressing and infuriating, which I suppose is a bonus for them. Owning the libs indeed.

'Trump White House Accused of "Abandoning Kids With Disabilities" in New Assault on Education Department'
The Trump administration accelerated its assault on the US Education Department on Tuesday by announcing that the agency’s work defending civil rights and students with disabilities will be placed under the authority of other federal departments, a move that teachers, Democratic lawmakers, and advocacy organizations condemned as illegal and disastrous for vulnerable children.

Linda McMahon, the billionaire education secretary who has enthusiastically advanced the destruction of her own agency, announced the transfer of the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services—which oversees the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)—to the US Department of Health and Human Services, headed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Additionally, the Justice Department will oversee the work of the Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights, McMahon said, claiming the changes would “break down the bureaucratic barriers and strengthen the coordination of resources to improve programs that serve infants, toddlers, children, and adults.”

Critics argued the moves would do the opposite, scattering crucial programs across departments that lack the expertise and resources to fulfill the education offices’ mandates, ultimately depriving children and their families of support.

“Moving IDEA out of the Department of Education is not an administrative adjustment—it is an attack on the educational and civil rights foundation of the law,” said Becky Pringle, president of the National Education Association. “It would drag us backward by treating disability as a medical issue instead of an educational right and by unraveling decades of progress. The Department of Education is the only federal agency with the expertise, infrastructure, and specialists needed to protect students’ rights and ensure they receive the services they are guaranteed.”

“Relocating the Office for Civil Rights to the Department of Justice as part of this scheme would further erode federal oversight and endanger disability-rights enforcement nationwide,” Pringle added.

The Arc of the United States, a nonprofit that advocates for the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, said that “moving special education to HHS and civil rights enforcement to DOJ would split apart the offices responsible for making disability rights real in schools, leaving families chasing answers across the federal government instead of getting accountability from one education agency.”

“Moving IDEA oversight into HHS pushes students with disabilities toward a medical model, where disability is treated as a diagnosis to manage instead of a natural part of human life,” said Katy Neas, the group’s CEO. “When that mindset drives education decisions, students are more likely to be segregated, underestimated, or treated as separate from the school community.”

President Donald Trump’s nasty nighttime habits leave staff scrambling to clean up in the morning, a bombshell new book has revealed.

The 80-year-old president is a late-night snacker who leaves chip bags and wrappers lying around on the floor, according to Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, a forthcoming book by White House correspondents Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.

“A nighttime snacker, the president would frequently leave an array of empty potato chip bags, Starbucks wrappers, and ice cream cartons in the trash, or on the floor,” the authors wrote. “The staff had to begin monitoring the trash after it was discovered he was sometimes throwing out White House sterling silver utensils.”

Trump, who rose to fame in New York City as a builder, also has an odd—and apparently unhygienic—design preference: carpets in the bathroom.

“The portion nearest the shower would often be soaked through; the staff was never quite sure why, but they worried about mold growing underneath,” Haberman and Swan wrote. “The solution was to lay a small piece of the same carpet—never an actual bath mat—over the larger one.”

“Several of these pieces were kept in rotation, swapped out and dried,” they added.

After moving back into the White House last year, Trump launched a bizarre decor standoff with his wife, the new book reveals.

“In the early weeks of the new administration, items were spirited from the second-floor corridor into the president’s bedroom,” Haberman and Swan wrote. “Sometimes Trump carried the objects in himself, rearranging things across the private quarters on a whim.”

At the time, however, Melania wasn’t around to comment as objects “vanished” into Trump’s bedroom.

“Once, when staff gently reminded the president that he was taking things from the Center Hall his wife had personally selected, he made clear he didn’t care,” the authors wrote. “He seemed almost to be competing with her—determined to have the better room.”

Elsewhere in the book, the authors recount how Trump has been known to personally contribute to the golden-ification of the Oval Office—by supergluing items around the space.

“As he was known to prefer his own aesthetic handiwork to anyone else’s, the sight of the president squeezing glue onto gilded appliqués and mounting them on the wall himself surprised no one in his inner circle,” the authors wrote, in an excerpt released by The New York Times.
