Manilowism for beginners
In many ways, "I write the songs that make the whole world sing" describes the Creation story of Manilowism. It is interesting indeed how the lyrics of this hymn seem to predict modern string theory (indeed, ALL knowledge can be found in the works of Manilow (pbuh)). For verily he states "I am music and I write the songs". What is music? It is vibration. And to what are so-called scientists turning to to explain the Universe - vibrating strings. The word "song" is just another word for story, one set to music. A "writer of songs" is a Creator. To paraphrase:-
"I am music" - I am a vibrating string
"And I write the songs" - I created the Universe (Or Tuniverse as it is known in the Church of Manilowism).
In the next lesson, I will show how the key elements of evolution by natural selection may be found within the verses of Copacabana.

Ah, Brother Klr, you speak the truth. And is there not a lesson there that the wages of sin is misery. For indeed, did not Lola lose her looks, her Tony and, in the end, her mind?

Re: The Church of Manilow
I loved "Mandy" and "Weekend in New England." I really did.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

Have you strayed from the path of righteousness? Manilow is not a vengeful God. If you return to the fold he will simply be "So glad you made it".tattuchu wrote:I loved "Mandy" and "Weekend in New England." I really did.

Re: The Church of Manilow
Ah, sister LBON, you raise an interesting point - "Could it be magic?". Here, Manilow (pbuh) raises one of the key questions of our time - is materialism the beginning and end of things, or is there room for the supernatural?

The concepts of Heisenbergs Uncertainty Principle are embedded within this hymn:-klr wrote:Clinton Huxley wrote:Ah, Brother Klr, you speak the truth. And is there not a lesson there that the wages of sin is misery. For indeed, did not Lola lose her looks, her Tony and, in the end, her mind?![]()
