I've just started a Uni course, but unfortunately you don't learn much, I also figured this would be a good place to post what I have learnt. It lets me revise and maybe gives a history not many people know (or care) about.

I passed it on the train from Dublin to Galway once, years ago. If you haven't already read them, I highly recommend two books, baa: A Fortunate Life, an autobiography by A B Facey, and The Fatal Shore, an historical novel by Robert Hughes.

I've just read The Commonwealth of Thieves: The Story of the founding of Australia by Thomas Kenealy which is far more interesting than his The Great Shame which should have been called The Great Pity 'cos it bored the pants off me.
