I didn't find it that short, and I'm not a bad gamer. (Not as short as Modern Warfare for instance) I didn't want it to end though, when it did. I got very, very into it. I was nearly crying when I had to... oh, you know.. the incinerator.
Glad they're making another, while I doubt it will capture the exact feeling of the first, I'm not someone who gets hung up on sequels being recreations of the first. They have to be different, especially because the player is approaching them with different ideas as well, not a blank slate.

further on than that. lvl 18 where you need to get an electric bolt through a portal then quickly open a portal up to a high button do a tricky jump and press it before the electric bolt gets across the room got around 3 seconds to do it
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Oh yeah. That one. Yeah that took me 2 goes. Pain in the arse it was.

The second one has more resources. The first one, because it was only an add-on, only had a team of 12.
And yes... it was that short. The second half was easier than the first too and the end boss thingy was a piece of piss.

Portal was an experiment, some guys from Valve saw an indie game, contacted the developers and BOOM - Portal.
The second one has a lot of potential, and the ability to add and create your own levels should never be underestimated.

The cake is a lie is a lie. The cake is a lie died out long ago.
