POLL: A Merkin Experiment - Volunteers needed.

Post by Mysturji » Wed Jan 19, 2011 11:55 pm

I watched a science program today, and the science dude was talking about the quantum weirdness of the dual-slit photon experiment, and he was talking about photons like bullets, so I thought "Why not re-create the experiment with a machine-gun and compare the results?"
Then I realised that this is a perfect experiment for our Merkin cousins to take part in, because they all have guns.
So, Merkins... Git out back with yer guns 'n' start shootin'.
Please repeat the experiment using different distances between the slits and different ranges from the gun to the target, or until someone gets killed, or the police arrive.
Vote your experimental results above.
Thank you for you contribution to science.

hhhhhhhh. not all of us Merkins have firearms.

some of us prefer katanas or other badass close range melee weapons. :)

:what: A katana wouldn't fit through the slit(s)
If you MUST go Feudal Japanese, how about shiruken?

I only have one gun. It's not a very high caliber and it doesn't shoot very far. Not like it used to :dunno:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I've never touched a gun, let alone own one, and I never will.

oh and bullets don't have wave-particle duality so it won't work

Actually they do! It's just that the combined uncertainties of the trillions of particles that make up a bullet combine to create a wavefunction that is so close to certainty in both position and momentum that it makes sense to treat it as such if you are trying to avoid it.
