Thanks Zig & diva. It's early yet I suppose, though Azathoth hasn't posted either and now has 2 mayoral votes along with UT, who has just the 1 post thus far. Of course, zig was with just 1 post too 'till recently.

If the game is a bit minimalistic as oblivion alluded in the sign-up thread, does that give the mayor position any more weight than usual? Maybe I'm thinking too much into it at this point - both of those are good candidates for viewing.

And diva, do you have any objections to being mayor? You at least have participated more to this point.

That was my concern. However, I'm wondering now, if that's just a change in style on her part.

If it is... then I'm not content with my vote on her. But until I hear more from her, my vote sticks. Next choice would be UT

Wait, grit - you meant that she usually participates more up to this point??

I would bask in the glory and the glow. :smug:

I have played several games (most recently at TR) where the mayor vote was important and I would not want that responsibility. It does not mean that I do not have opinions about it, it just means that I think that I am unsuited.

I know UT can be low participatory but like I said, he has really good instincts. My second vote would go to Mantis. She usually shows up at game end time and makes good points.

Sent my post in and saw Mantis's reply.

I don't think that is what he meant at all.
Currently suffers from Cassandra's curse.

I think everyone has been pretty quiet today, the game really hasn't taken off yet. So far my main concerns are feck and irre. I really don't see the votes on diva. They seem to be based on zig's post about her being mayor voted, but it assumes that she was so terrified of one vote that she panicked, I just don't see that in her post.

grit,

charlou is an excellent player, but often is not post happy, usually waiting until she has something firm to say before she posts. R.c. on the other hand I think has only played 1 or 2 games before and I don't seem to recall him posting much.

Just that she's participated more than the leading mayoral candidates to this point in this game.

It's probably a bit too early for piles too, but I actually have diva, Feck, and gib in my early townish looking group, with DP, higgs2, and ksen as most questionable, to me. I'm inclined to give DP and higgs2 a pass on Day 1, but don't like voting against ksen without more to go on.

Oh, and howdy UT. That first post of yours seemed oddish, so it's good to see you back. The womenses seem most impressed with you today.

I'm known to WIFOM too much on game flavour, but if it's thought helpful I in part have ideas similar to some posted earlier, involving 3 teams with 2 of the teams compatible, and one of the teams the 'good guys'. I think the game may have a minimalism that makes the game easier to manage but more difficult to play for each of the teams.

Are you familiar enough with r.c and charlou to know if much is to be made of their not posting yet?
I know you did not ask me but I will answer this if I may. :fall:

Charlou usually waits until the second day or day 3 to participate. You can check the games Timebomb, Elfquest and Darkover for verification of this.

R.C. checked in at 9:24 pm but this is his first time playing on this site, so he is probably holding back, trying to get a feel for everything.

Don't worry, he will leap in.
You're right diva :). I generally keep it quiet on the first day where you have nothing but speculation to go by. I'll be butting in pretty soon though.

Keen to hear your thoughts r.c.

Also you give your location as "India/Texas" which is a pretty wide geographic spread; which time zone are you operating in? It helps keep track of when it is / is not reasonable to look for someone to be on line.

Of all the mayor votes on Az, the two that stood out the most were ksen's and Adenosine's. Neither gave an explanation. Neither have added anything else.

DP your posts have stood out as relatively numerous while lacking any substance whatsoever, other than to try to establish that you're going to make an effort to play this game. Sign up for a game, play the game.

irre, that seemed a bit convenient, starting a UT bw on the tail of a couple of light FOSs
this is your first post in this game? Very fluffy.
Fluffy?

Gib's posts have come across as somewhat all over the place in a short space of time, and your vote on UT pinged with me too. I know that you and UT have history though, so inclined to give benefit of the doubt there and see how it pans out.
