this suggests you might not want to be mayor.

why is that?

because I'm a creature of obstinate habit. It's interesting that you're pressing this line of questioning.
You are not a creature of habit Oblivion. You are constantly learning and adapting. You must feel that mayor voting is a clear give away for scum and you want to avoid it for the one in a hundred shot that you turn up scum.

I'm happy to be mayor.

MZ I recall Linus as a player who doesn't go with the flow and is unflappable about being called on it.

Ob, why is MZ asking you about your lack of mayor voting interesting? You are coming across as defensive. It doesn't help that it is fresh in my mind that you pinged for me that last TR game you were scum and your trying to foment suspicion of me seems like an attempt to deflect from yourself.

off the top of my head, I'd guess I vote for a mayor about 50% of the time when I'm scum. It's more like 25% to 35% of the time when I'm town.

I got out of the habit of voting mayor during a period at TR when I was voted in as mayor every single game.

I do learn a lot, and try to learn something from every game. But, I think I've pretty much exhausted the learnings related to my own mayor votes, at least for now.

because he's one of the 3 players who have pinged for me so far. You are another.

He's being uncharacteristically aggressive - going after me for something that is unremarkable about my game, after posting pretty much nothing of substance in the first few hours of the game.

You gave me impression you're not getting dug into the game before you signed off for your night, and there are a couple things that I thought you would probably jump on earlier that you didn't. Instead you've put a lot of focus on linus for being linus. And now you go for the tried-and-true, seeing if you can drum up a slapfight with me.

Not sure about the ins and outs of the mayor role. I've only seen it twice at RatSkep, once in a game I was playing.

Do we vote for a Mayor every day or only when the current one is killed off?

Let's put it another way then. Top 3 picks who you would vote to prevent being mayor. Shizzle is given.

we vote for a new mayor if the current mayor dies. the main purpose of a mayor is as a tiebreaker. the mayor-lore at ratz in the past has been that town gives the seer some advice about who they'd like viewed with the mayor vote. That use of the mayor vote has fallen off a little. I think players still vote for someone they'd like viewed, but seers don't always agree the selected mayor is a priority to be viewed.

In that case I'll let it ride. I am assuming I will be viewed one way or the other as people are unfamiliar with me. I'm not trying to dodge that.

It's not unremarkable. But it is something worth drawing you out on.
