Re: Discworld Posgame Wrap-up
I knew who scum were. It was a joy to behold.

Re: Discworld Posgame Wrap-up

Congratulations, scum team!

Thank you for the game . I did say a few times I suspected Gonzo
Well done scum
Well done scum

Re: Discworld Posgame Wrap-up
Hmmm... That would probably have won the game for scum even if town had done the logical thing and lynched barnett and gonzo. Once barnett flipped don, DP would've been cleared.Magicziggy wrote:You viewed DP as town. But he's scum.

Apparently because the seer wasn't informed when the view target was switched with someone else by the bus driver. Scum deserved the win (and would probably have won if the seer & bus driver had been vanilla town and vanilla scum, respectively), but I think having to wifom about bus driver impact on seer views is too much.charlou wrote:Why did DP view as town?
Re: Discworld Posgame Wrap-up
you cannot try to work around a bus driver until you know that there is one , It's like with the Don ...you have to go with Seer views up to the point where it becomes obvious that the Seer's views have been compromised. But that is why I mentioned that relying on the Seer to catch all the scum for you is a bad idea .Linus wrote:Apparently because the seer wasn't informed when the view target was switched with someone else by the bus driver. Team I'm sorry that I missed DP , I used to get abuse for Lynch voting DP every game , NOW can you see why ?

Re: Discworld Posgame Wrap-up
AFAICT, the usual is that the seer gets some indication that view target gets swapped. E.g., the seer says "view player A" and the GM replies "player B views as...".Feck wrote:you cannot try to work around a bus driver until you know that there is one , It's like with the Don ...you have to go with Seer views up to the point where it becomes obvious that the Seer's views have been compromised. The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Note the 2 people I voted for were actually scum. This is why "generic" scum tells are useless. Better players don't give them no matter what and some of us (like me) give them either way.

Scum tells would work ...if scum were not allowed to read themMattShizzle wrote:Note the 2 people I voted for were actually scum. This is why "generic" scum tells are useless. Better players don't give them no matter what and some of us (like me) give them either way.

Re: Discworld Posgame Wrap-up
A quick note from the GM regarding the endgame:
7 players remained and were able to carry 7.5 votes. Scum controlled 3 of those votes.
IOW, Not only did Town need to lynch a Scum to survive, they could not afford to have 1 Townie vote for any 1 Townie or else Scum could swoop in, place their votes along with that player and automatically win the game.
The best fix, as I saw it, would have been if this had been discussed and decision made to vote along with Athene for all players, with any dissenting voters placed on the hotplate for tomorrow.
This could have allowed Town to pull out a possible win.
Just my two cents.
