Re: Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest
A lot of men take themselves too seriously, imagining the world is a lot smaller than it is and everyone's paying attention.
The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Pretty spectacular last post. RIP Stripes, you were very special.stripes4 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 11:41 amSarah gazed in the mirror. Her naked body chronicled her life. Scars that recalled the children that had been dragged unnaturally from her abdomen, competed with the vertical etchings of the stretching that had nearly torn her belly in two, to accommodate the dawn of their lives. A hashtag of silvery tissue.
Faded tattoos recorded the whims of youth, the rebellion of middle age and the yearning she had to reclaim her body with statements of her self. Who she was. But had she ever known?
This was now. A gift of a life still in existence. A casing that she had inhabited and would continue to lumber through life in, until her time came. To rest. To stop.
Who would want this now? Hell... she didn't even want it herself.
She turned away. Best not to look. Best not to feel. Best not to hope.

It was a night like all the others, dark.

Peace broke out.

She found it mildly disappointing, not unlike her first experience riding a 50cc Zundapp.
