THIS!
But come on - some of you must be at least somewhat excited by now…

I'm not getting off on it quite as much as the RatSkep derail thread, though

Around 5-10 posts were deleted in the last week, with one brave chap going back to complain about his deletion. His post was deleted within minutes.
Did the forum at RD.net ever delete comments?
Thanks for any comments.

To be fair, we made it a policy not to delete posts. They were moved to what was called the Recycle Bin and left there - including spam. However that changed in February of this year when Josh and Co. shut down the forum - the staff deleted everything in the admin and mod area to keep anything from being used against staff or members. We felt that if there was going to be a new discussion area, then everyone should have a clean slate. Also the staff had discussed things about their personal lives they did not want Josh and Co. to have access to - neither of them (or RD) had paid much attention to the staff or the staff forums up to that time. Josh and Co. also deleted all the posts of those they personally banned - including some of the staff. Regularly deleting posts didn't occur until late February of this year when new folks were in charge. Apparently deleting posts is seen by them as an appropriate way of dealing with those they feel don't follow the rules.
