Andrew, I'm wondering if this is brazen scum play or naivete due to a different forum.

x-post lots. There is no need for any kind of roleclaiming day one unless you are shizzle and someone has poked you with a vote. Andrew would be my pick for a seer view. we don't have any meta on his playstyle yet. (awaits feckplosion)

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Sure, and then so would full on RCs, but that's merely a possibility not a certainty. The question is whether such a pRC would hurt town, or rather whether it would be more likely to aid scum in selecting valuable targets than it would help town to trap scum. I don't think it's likely to do much either way to be honest, but it would give us a tangible place to start the discussion, rather than the, "I think your tone is scummy!" approach.charlou wrote:If scum have safe claims it's useless.andrewclunn wrote:Well then why not get some tangible information? How about a pRC of people's genders? That shouldn't reveal too much. Plenty of male and female characters, but it would restrict scum for fake claims later.
Nobody expects me...

Might be better if you use the full terminology, rather than acronyms .. There may be some that aren't so recognisable here.

Re: MGS3: Snake Eater Mafia - Tactical Espionage Action DAY
pRC = pseudo RC. Where one reveals an aspect of their role, but not the full role itself. The example I gave was gender, where people would claim that their role is male or female.

And, not limited to, but bearing the safe claim element in mind, this role claim on day one idea improves town's chances how?andrewclunn wrote:pRC = pseudo RC. I'm of the school that the more information ton has the better. Specifically, I've already stated that this would limit the possible claims for scum later on, or is giving out fake role claims standard procedure here?

Standard procedure is not to special hunt, which is what you're doing amounts to.andrewclunn wrote:I'm of the school that the more information ton has the better. More specifically, not to do so in a way that obliges specials to out before they've had the opportunity to gather information over some nights.charlou wrote:Standard procedure is not to special hunt, which is what you're doing amounts to.andrewclunn wrote:I'm of the school that the more information ton has the better. Yes, giving out fake role claims is standard procedure.

MGS3: Snake Eater Mafia - Tactical Espionage Action DAY 1
Do you think there is little or no information atm?andrewclunn wrote:I'm of the school that the more information ton has the better. Specifically, I've already stated that this would limit the possible claims for scum later on, or is giving out fake role claims standard procedure here?
What other pRCs are there? Would any be useful now?
Have any other players come across this style of play before?

Any thoughts on the players so far, Athene?Athene wrote:Yes, giving out fake role claims is standard procedure.
