The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Seriously, I rdont have a favorite war. I was never into history.
Lately, I been reading up on the "Battle of the Bulge" during WWII. My grandpa fought in that battle.

Einsenhower's son wrote an excellent book on the Bulge. Amazon.com probably has used copies. You can also the "The Ardennes: Battle of the Bulge" (an Army "Green Book") as a free download if you want.Existentialist1844 wrote:Bill Pullman, Will Smith and Jeff Goldbum vs. Aliens.

When was that? All I remember is we were officially told we were winning every month (i don't count those Commie Pinko Bastards like Walter Cronkite), especially as we expanded the conflict to places like Cambodia, and then one day I was told we had peace with honor. And then a few years later I woke up and saw helicopters falling off of carriers filled with refugees.Gawdzilla wrote:"We were winning when I left."born-again-atheist wrote::shrug:Ian wrote:WWII Pacific theater - America whups Japan nearly back to the Stone Age.

My favorite war is still the war against dandruff. We may never completely win it but i feel it's under control. And so far nobody has been killed.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

Yes, in both places (including BAA's "Farmer's "win" ") rendering the intent of the second set ambiguous.
