I used to try to take some digiscoped pictures of birds. It took a lot of time and I had time for less birds. Then I saw a bumch of people's photos and really gave up. I could see I'd need to spend thousands for proper equipment. So in that sense Andrei is right. It discourages on a personal level. Even though you know that all those people, and you, need to take all those photos to get the few good ones.

I think he's completely right about facebook, but I don't agree that the internet in general is bad for creativity, not by a long way. I think it depends how you use it.
